Meet Melanie! We’re excited introduce the newest member of our team, Melanie Lombardi, the new Sales Representative for Vitl Life Science Solutions.
Melanie joined the ITL Group in May with 10 years of clinical ophthalmic experience, three years of regional sales management and five years of research in library sciences experience.
What have your first few months working at ITL Group been like?
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the Vitl brand and I am excited to attend the AACC with ITL Group in August. One of my favourite aspects of working for ITL Group is that no two days are the same. Every day has been filled with new projects. I am excited to hit the ground running to create brand awareness for the Vitl brand and its specifications. I look to advance in this role and build a solid rapport with ITL Group customers.
What attracted you to work within the Laboratory/MedTech industry?
My interest in a career in biotechnology led me to pursue a degree in chemistry. I have been in the Laboratory/MedTech industry working as a Retinal Clinic Coordinator assisting in clinical trials for intravitreal injections, implementing ophthalmic medical devices, and worked in international sales for electrochemistry lab instrumentation.
What technology/innovation could you not live without?
I could not live without my phone. It allows me access to read eBooks, emails, research projects, take photos, or look up new and exciting recipes to make!
What’s been your biggest challenge so far?
The biggest challenge so far is finding #LABMAN a research companion!
What goals have you set for the rest of 2017?
I have set high expectations for myself in sharing successes documented in nanotechnology cancer research utilizing Vitl’s product line to medical teams across the nation.
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Love Lifelong Learning
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
It is hard to pick a favourite place. I am an avid traveller and believe home is certainly where the heart is.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I have a passion for cooking! I’m a tenacious banana bread maker, just ask the ITL VA team!
What’s your favourite Vitl product and why?
The Co-mix is my favourite product. Its versatility and rugged design allows for research in mixing PCR plates, enzyme preparations, DNA isolation methods, mixing of viscous liquids, mixing samples during incubation stages, resuspension of genetic material, mixing of ELISA immunoassays, and mixing of bacterial or cell cultures. The Co-Mix is a key product to advance in cancer and nanotechnology research and overcome challenges in the multi-step processes of those laboratory research protocols.
